Potassium is mostly absorbed from eating natural foods. These include bananas, cantaloupes, avocados, potatoes and white beans. It’s an important mineral that the body needs. However, not all people have the recommended daily amount of this mineral. The level required usually fails due to the high amount of sodium as it can release potassium out of the body.
Generally, potassium is needed for the nerve functions and cardiovascular system. The lack of this mineral can cause certain health disadvantages. You’d start feeling some discomforts that indicate lack of potassium.

1. Mild Headache or Dizziness

Palpitation is not only a scary feeling but also a critical condition. With your panic setting in, it may worsen into a more serious heart problem. This is one disadvantages of not having potassium.
7. Tingling and Numbness
Keeping the nerves functional is what enough potassium does. So a little drop can make you suffer from tingling sensation and numbness in your hands and feet. This is another sign you must be aware of and check your potassium level to know if you need to raise the level.
Other than eating potassium rich foods, staying away from too much sodium and processed foods is important to keep in mind. All those are great factors that may make your potassium levels drop.
